About the role
The purpose of this role is to oversee the preparation and maintenance of all mine surveying plans, managing the survey control data base for operations, and working closely with the technical team and contractors to always attain maximum safety and production targets.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising, mentoring, and progressing the development of the underground mine survey team
- Taking a leading role in the day-to-day activities of the mine survey team
- Liaising with the geology, engineering and mine production teams in order to co-ordinate and implement daily, weekly and longer-term project work
- Playing an active and hands on role regarding subsistence monitoring, EOM survey and computation, daily survey mark out
- Developing new and reviewing current procedures and safe work practices within the underground mine survey team
- Upholding health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution

About you
The ideal candidate must exhibit a strong commitment to safety and the capacity to collaborate effectively with both team members and stakeholders, with particular emphasis on excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across all levels. It is essential that you hold a qualification in Surveying or a related discipline, along with significant experience in mining as a surveyor. The right candidate will have the ability and willingness to lead, mentor, and develop the mine survey team, as well as holding or being willing to work towards attaining a statutory ticket as a Registered Mine Surveyor. Exposure to and comprehension of modern survey instrumentation and associated computer systems are crucial, as is familiarity with Deswik CAD and MDM. Strong report writing skills and experience in operating UAVs (Drones) are also highly regarded.
