  • Michael’s Story

I have worked at Cowal Gold Operation for the past 13 years, five of those being with Evolution Mining.
Started off at Cowal working as a contract Fitter, before I was rewarded a full-time position. Since then I completed several projects, worked my way up to Leading Hand and then Foreman. I held the Foreman role for about six years, during which I completed a diploma and several leadership competencies, before being successfully appointed Superintendent of Processing Maintenance.
Day to day involves: several meetings – production, planning and maintenance activities; checking all safety critical controls are adhered to and everyone is accountable for all maintenance activities that day; all safety KPIs are tracked and followed and continually communicate with the processing leadership group; challenges and improvements.
One of the highlights is working collaboratively with management and the Sydney team on the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
