The Opportunity

 

The role of Principal Planning Engineer North Parkes (NPO) within the long-term planning team will see you responsible for identifying value accretive opportunities associated with the strategic plans for the asset.  You will support the development of ongoing and new projects, provide guidance and recommendations on global best practice, as well as identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement with bulk mining planning (Block Cave, Sub-Level Cave and Open Pit). 

 

Operating as part of the Brisbane based long-term planning team you will,

 

  • Identify site strategic scenarios, and deliver optimised mine designs and schedules to enable selection of a preferred pathway for the Evolution Mining “life of mine” plan

  • Engage with corporate and site stakeholders to collate and integrate inputs into the possible scenarios

  • Contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities, including action development

  • Participate in and contribute to our LOM season workshops at the technical hub

  • Assist the study team in delivery of the mine extension studies

  • Develop the ore reserve statements for NPO as the primary competent person

  • Collaborate with site teams to align tactical objectives with strategic plans

Does this sound like you?

 

  • Have evolved underground mining experience and a degree in mining, civil, or geotechnical engineering

  • In depth exposure to Block Caving and Sub-level caving methodologies

  • Are proficient in mine planning software such as Deswik CAD and Scheduler, with exposure to optimisation tools like Deswik SO, Datamine SO, Apex or Minemax 

  • Ability to develop and interpret draw strategie

  • Competent Person under the JORC Code for Ore Reserves 

  • Enjoy working across diverse teams to develop long-term mine designs and schedules that align with business goal
