This role is pivotal in driving Evolution Mining’s growth strategy through the discovery of new mineral resources.
You will be responsible for managing project exploration strategies, field programs, budgets, and teams, while ensuring high standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and stakeholder engagement. This includes supervising geologists and field staff, interpreting geological data, and generating new exploration targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading on-ground exploration activities including mapping, sampling, geophysics, and drilling programs
- Managing geologists, field staff, contractors, consultants, and exploration budgets
- Interpreting geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to define follow-up programs
- Building strong relationships with First Nations, landholders, and government stakeholders

You are a passionate and experienced exploration geologist who thrives on the thrill of discovery and the challenge of leading complex field programs. With a strong technical foundation in geology and a deep understanding of mineral systems, you bring both strategic insight and hands-on expertise to every project you lead.
You hold a tertiary qualification in geology, and ideally a postgraduate degree in economic geology. Your career has equipped you with the leadership skills to manage diverse teams and the technical acumen to interpret complex geological, geochemical, and geophysical data. You’ve worked across a range of mineralisation styles—particularly gold and copper—and have a solid grasp of the geological terrains of Eastern Australia.
Key strengths you bring to the role include:
- Proven experience leading exploration teams and managing field programs across diverse geological environments
- Strong understanding of IOCG, epithermal, and porphyry mineralisation styles
- G1, G8, G8 Supervisor qualification and QLD SSE Notice holders desired
- Proficiency in exploration software such as Leapfrog, QGIS, and acQuire

Your approach is collaborative and inclusive. You’re also highly organised, with a knack for planning and executing exploration programs that are safe, efficient, and aligned with strategic goals.
What sets you apart is your curiosity, your drive to innovate, and your commitment to excellence. You think in 3D, solve problems creatively, and are always looking for the next opportunity to uncover something new. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact in a company that values safety, accountability, respect, and excellence, we’d love to hear from you.
