At Ernest Henry, you can choose what suits your priorities. Work an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.

This roster is 8/6 and a 12-hour day.

About the role

As a Safety & Risk Advisor, you’ll be at the forefront of fostering a proactive safety culture across the Ernest Henry site,  Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Safety, Health and Risk, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and influencing safe behaviours on site. This is a hands on position where you’ll work closely with operational teams to provide practical support and deliver impactful safety & risk initiatives.

Your day to day will include:

• Leading risk assessments, incident investigations (including ICAMs), and internal audits.
• Building strong relationships across departments and mentoring supervisors and workers in the field.
• Delivering engaging safety training and supporting return-to-work processes.
• Ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of safety performance data to inform decision-making.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and safety & risk professional who thrives in dynamic, high risk environments. You bring a practical approach to problem solving and a genuine passion for influencing safe behaviours. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A Diploma or higher in WHS and at least 5 years’ experience in mining or similar high-risk industries.
• Strong capability in risk management, audits, ICAM investigations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety systems (INX experience highly regarded).
• The ability to develop WHS documentation and procedures that drive compliance and engagement.
• High-risk work licenses will be highly regarded.
