Advisor - Safety and Risk
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Safety, Health and Risk, the Safety & Risk Advisor is responsible for supporting a proactive safety culture across the Ernest Henry operation. This is a hands‑on role where you will work closely with operational teams to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, drive continuous improvement, and positively influence safe behaviours on site.
Your day to day will include:
- Leading risk assessments, incident investigations (including ICAMs), and internal audits
- Building strong relationships across departments and mentoring supervisors and workers in the field
- Delivering engaging safety training and supporting return‑to‑work processes
- Ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of safety performance data to support informed decision‑making
About you
We are looking for applicants with the following attributes, skills and experience:
- A Cert IV in OHS and signifcant previous experience in mining or similar high‑risk industries
- Strong capability in risk management, audits, and ICAM investigations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems (INX experience highly regarded)
- Ability to develop WHS documentation and procedures that support compliance and engagement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence safe behaviours in operational environments
