At Ernest Henry, you can choose what suits your priorities. Work an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Cairns or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night. This roster is 8/6 – 7/7 (Days/Nights) and a 12-hour shift. Flexible work options are available.
About the Role
Reporting to the Underground Fixed Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the Tradesperson Boilermaker – Fixed Plant is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the reliable operation of materials handling, hoisting, and dewatering systems. The role focuses on ensuring equipment performance through proactive inspection, diagnosis, and high-quality maintenance work, while contributing to a strong safety culture and working with operations to minimize downtime and enhance asset performance.
Key Responsibilities include:

Stopping unsafe work and reporting hazards, near hits, and incidents into INX

Applying effective risk controls using recognised risk management tools

Conducting assurance interactions and inspections and recording outcomes in INX

Delivering high-quality maintenance work to meet performance and compliance requirements

Maintaining accurate work order records to support auditing and minimise rework

Collaborating with supervisors, planners, and team members to improve asset reliability and CMMS accuracy

Mentoring apprentices and demonstrating strong safety and leadership behaviours

Following correct cost management processes including parts usage and budget alignment
About You
You will hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Boilermaker (Fabrication) and have experience in fixed plant maintenance within a mining environment. You work safely at all times, can prioritise both planned and unplanned work, and can work independently or as part of a team. You have strong stakeholder engagement skills, effective written and verbal communication, the ability to interpret technical drawings and fault-find systems, and you remain resilient and adaptable in a changing environment while contributing positively to team performance and workplace culture.
