This roster is 8/6/7/7 and a 12-hour day.

About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor - Production the purpose of this position is to safely perform the duties of Bomber / Relief Operator for the Ernest Henry Underground Production Team to ensure key business objectives are met.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Safely performing the duties of Bomber Relief Operator for the EHO Underground Production Team to ensure business objectives are met in line with EHO/EVN values andcode of conduct.
  • Safely handling explosives for production firings; leading by example and providing guidance to crew members.
  • Maintaining the required rates (production and / or development movements) in a safe and efficient manner, at all times and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Where appointed to for the shift / swing, operate the rockbreak loader (LH517i) on active production levels in order to remove the oversize produced by the cave in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining the required services / ancillary items (vent, services, spray lines, firing lines) in a safe and efficient manner, at all time and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Limiting the amount of stockpiling performed, where possible tip grade to orepasses, crusher or surface pads at all times unless otherwise directed by the production supervisor.
  • Performing acting duties of other roles (service crew, loader operator, underground dumptruck, grader, rock breaker, magazine keeper etc..) as trained and when directed by the supervisor.

 

About You

The ideal candidate must possess a Manual Driver's Licence and a Queensland Security Explosives Clearance Card (QSEC Card), both of which are mandatory. You should have prior underground mining experience, preferably with operating underground loaders such as the Sandvik LH621/517 or CAT R3000/2900. Experience in a "Bomber/Relief or Hot seater" role, as well as working with explosives and shot firing, is highly desirable. Additionally, you should have experience operating heavy articulated underground equipment and performing service reticulation and vent work.
