At Ernest Henry, you can choose what suits your priorities. Work an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Cairns or Townsville or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.
This roster is 8/6 (days) - 7/7 (nights) and a 12-hour day.
About the role
We’re seeking a Development All-Rounder to join our underground development crew. This is Evolution’s step-up role in development—second only to the Jumbo Operator. You’ll support the jumbo, and you’ll also switch into charge-up and bogging as operational needs change.
Reporting to the Development Supervisor, you will:
- Offside the jumbo operator: de-rig/re-rig, load bolts on the boom, and maintain cycle pace.
- Install ground support and verify quality before hand-over.
- Hot-seat the jumbo and cover leave when required to keep headings advancing.
- Operate as an all-rounder across trucking, charge-up and bogging to meet plan and respond to the workfront.
- Conduct pre-starts, inspections and minor maintenance; escalate defects early.
- Follow development plans, controls and standards to achieve targets safely and efficiently.
About you
You’re step-up ready with proven underground experience across charge-up and bogging. You’re comfortable moving between roles to keep development on track, and you can hot-seat the jumbo when needed.
You will also have:
- A valid QSEC card, Working at Heights and a current driver’s licence.
- A strong safety record and the discipline to follow standards and controls.
- Clear communication, teamwork and a calm, problem-solving approach under time pressure.
The motivation to learn, take feedback and progress toward future jumbo competency.
