Diesel Fitter

About the role

As a Diesel Fitter at Ernest Henry, you’ll be part of the Mobile Maintenance team, keeping a diverse fleet of underground and surface equipment running safely and reliably.

You’ll work across both planned and breakdown maintenance, taking ownership in the field and playing a key role in maximising plant availability and performance. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Maintaining, repairing and servicing mobile equipment across underground and surface operations
• Diagnosing faults and completing breakdown repairs across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Completing component change-outs and ensuring work is delivered safely and to a high standard
• Recording maintenance activities in the CMMS and supporting effective work management
• Identifying risks and applying strong safety practices in all tasks
• Contributing to continuous improvement and equipment reliability

About you

You’re a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in keeping equipment running at its best. You’re confident working independently, while also contributing to a high-performing team.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• A Diesel Fitter trade qualification
• Experience working on heavy mobile equipment, ideally in mining or a similar environment
• Strong fault finding, diagnostic and breakdown maintenance capability
• The ability to read and interpret hydraulic and auto electrical schematics
• Experience using maintenance systems (CMMS) to manage and record work
• A proactive, safety-first mindset
• A current manual driver’s licence and relevant high-risk tickets (highly regarded)

This roster is 8/6 (days) – 7/7 (nights) and a 12-hour day.
