About the role
The Mining Engineer is the key liaison between the Technical Services and Mine Operations teams. Working underground, you will be tasked with achieving and maintaining good relationships with both teams, identifying where plans and actions are diverging and addressing the gaps to maintain adherence to plan. Key result areas in this role include:
- Developing and providing safe and efficient drill and blast plans.
- Daily monitoring, recording and optimisation of production progress.
- Managing contractors on site and assisting supervisors with day to day running of the mine
- Conducting mine process and business improvement studies as required
- Assist the Senior Engineer in establishing and implementing safe working practices and procedures
- Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements in respect to mining activities are met
- Lifestyle friendly 8/6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville, DIDO from Mt Isa with a travel allowance or live residential in Cloncurry and receive a local living allowance
- Eligible for quarterly bonus

About you
The ideal candidate for this role is a mining engineer with experience working underground. You will be proficient in using mine design software and possess strong communication skills. The ability to build strong relationships and take initiative to achieve goals at all levels (individual, team, and company) is also essential.
