Engineer - Mining
About the role
As a Mine Engineer at Ernest Henry, you will play a key role in turning short-term plans into safe, reliable production outcomes within the underground operation.
You will own the weekly plan and rolling three-month plan, ensuring designs are practical and executable through regular underground engagement. Working closely with operators, supervisors and technical teams, you will identify and remove constraints, keeping production on track.
This is a highly collaborative, site-based role that combines technical capability with strong operational engagement.
Key responsibilities for the role include
- Leading with safety, applying health, safety and security standards in all tasks and decisions
- Validating plans in the field through regular underground inspections
- Developing, coordinating and presenting weekly and rolling three-month plans
- Preparing drill and charge designs to support production targets
- Supporting cave performance through effective drill, charge and firing strategies
- Identifying and delivering improvement initiatives and short-term projects
- Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate reporting and data integrity
- Building alignment across operations and technical teams to ensure plan execution
About you
You are a practical and delivery-focused Mine Engineer who understands how to translate plans into executable work in an underground environment. You are comfortable working closely with crews and leaders, bring a strong safety mindset, and can adapt quickly in a dynamic operational setting. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and take ownership of outcomes.
You will also bring:
- A Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (preferred)
- Underground mine engineering experience
- Experience with mine design tools (Deswik or similar advantageous)
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, numerical and graphical)
- Ability to build effective relationships across site teams
- Self-motivation and ability to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to safety and operational discipline

This roster is 8/6 (dayshift only) and is a 12-hour shift.
