About the role

 

Ernest Henry Operations is offering exciting apprenticeship opportunities across a range of trades including Fixed Plant Fitters, Boilermakers, Electricians and Diesel Fitters.

These positions form part of a structured four-year apprenticeship program, providing the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification in your chosen trade.

Working within our maintenance teams, you will support day-to-day operations, learning from experienced tradespeople and developing practical skills across a range of equipment and systems.

The program combines on-the-job training with formal study through a registered training provider, allowing you to progressively build your skills, knowledge and confidence as you advance through each stage of your apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities for the role include

 

  • Assisting tradespeople with maintenance, repairs and installations across site
  • Supporting breakdown response and fault-finding activities
  • Learning the safe use of tools, equipment and machinery
  • Completing tasks aligned to your level of training and competency
  • Maintaining safe and clean work areas
  • Participating in structured training and development programs
  • Completing formal apprenticeship studies and assessments
  • Following site safety systems and contributing to a strong safety culture

 

 

About you

 

You are motivated, reliable and eager to learn. You are interested in learning a trade and building a long-term career in the mining and resources industry.

You bring a positive attitude, are willing to put in the effort to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team in a hands-on environment.

You understand the importance of safety and are committed to completing the full apprenticeship program.

 

You will also bring:

 

  • Completion of Year 10 with sound English and Maths results
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a structured environment
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to work a variety of rosters during your apprenticeship
  • Current driver’s licence (advantageous)
  • Pre-apprenticeship or prior trade exposure
