Our Ernest Henry Operation is a copper and gold mining and processing operation located 38 kilometres northeast of Cloncurry in Northwest Queensland. With a long mine life and an established underground mine, EHO offers stability, strong team culture, and opportunities for growth and development.

This position is offered on a Wednesday-to-Wednesday FIFO roster from Cairns or Townsville, working an 8:6 / 7:7 day and night shift cycle. About the role

The Grader Operator plays a critical role in maintaining underground roadways, ensuring safe and efficient travel for people, machinery, and services throughout the mine. You will operate underground graders and water trucks to maintain road conditions and support production and development targets. The role also provides coverage across a variety of underground tasks as operationally required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Safely maintaining underground roads, declines and travel routes to required standards
• Operating the water truck to support dust suppression and maintain safe working environments
• Providing coverage in other underground roles such as service crew, bomber/relief, dump truck, loader or magazine keeper
• Maintaining health, safety, statutory and regulatory requirements through hazard identification and reporting
• Demonstrating Evolution’s values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting Evolution’s Net Zero 2050 goals

About you

You are an experienced underground operator who takes pride in delivering safe, consistent and high-quality work. You bring strong competency in operating graders—ideally Caterpillar 140 series or equivalent—and have experience maintaining declines, levelling roadways and cutting drains to required standards. You are reliable, proactive and adaptable, with the ability to work independently or as part of a high-performing underground team. Your communication skills allow you to collaborate effectively and support others when needed, and you are willing to step into various underground tasks such as water truck operation, dump truck driving or service crew duties. Above all, you demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and contributing to a positive site culture.
