About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor Information & Communication systems, the IT Systems Administrator provides technical support, advice and troubleshooting for the combined Ernest Henry Operations server/infrastructure, network and desktop environment. This role will perform a wide variety of installation, configuration, upgrading and troubleshooting of EHO IT environment and provide excellent customer service to the site.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and installation of software applications and system updates
• Investigation, diagnostic testing, reporting and repair/resolution of systems and network devices
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with various IT/OT hardware and software suppliers, site leadership and site teams
• Desktop Support including client server applications, web applications, Microsoft applications, Windows operating systems and software
• Providing a high-level of strategic input and advice on IT/OT issues and planning and help develop improvements
• Supporting Site business applications, and management of Service Desk calls
• Work on an on-call roster for out of business hours support service
• Lifestyle friendly 8/6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville, DIDO from Mt Isa with a travel allowance or live residential in Cloncurry and receive a local living allowance
• Eligible for quarterly performance bonus

About you

The role will require you to be persuasive, encouraging, diplomatic with strong conflict resolution capability. It is essential that you are able to work with people at various levels while living our values – Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect.

 We are looking for people who have the following attributes and qualifications:

• Certificate, diploma, or degree in Technology or Technology related field
• Microsoft and/or Cisco certification desirable
• Knowledge of technical infrastructure from desktop to firewall
• Systems/network engineering experience preferably in a mid-to-large network environment
• Knowledge in VMWare ESXi, vCenter, and Cisco, Windows, Exchange, Teams, Active Directory, VMWare, and office 365.
• Technical Analysis skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems
