At Ernest Henry, you can choose what suits your priorities. Work an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Townsville or Cairns or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.

This roster is 8/6 and a 12-hour day.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will turn field observations and sample data into clear, timely guidance that keeps the mine on grade, on schedule and safe. Your work—mapping faces, logging samples and refining models—shapes every drill, blast and haul decision underground.  Key responsibilities include:

• Mapping development headings each shift to inform geological models
• Validating orebody and structural observations from digital face maps against existing interpretations
• Core logging, collecting and interpreting grade-control samples, ensuring data quality and prompt turnaround.
• Collecting Hydrogeological data from monitoring points
• Monitoring compliance with safety, environmental and statutory standards, escalating issues quickly.
• Collaborating with survey, engineering and planning teams to optimise cave designs and schedules
• Driving continuous improvement of geological models to support resource estimation and mine planning.

About you

You will possess a tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences and previous experience working in a metalliferous mining operation. Proficiency in Leapfrog is essential, and familiarity with Deswik and acQuire is also advantageous.
