What’s the opportunity? 

This is an exciting opportunity to work at a large-scale underground copper-gold operation with exposure to the latest surveying technologies, including UAVs, LiDAR, mobile underground scanning systems, photogrammetry and advanced point cloud workflows. The role offers broad experience across underground and surface surveying, making it ideal for someone looking to grow their technical capability and career in mining.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you’ll:

• Deliver survey support for underground and surface mining activities, including set-outs, pickups, as-built surveys and end-of-month surveys
• Maintain survey control networks, mine plans and 3D models while supporting statutory compliance and QAQC processes
• Work with a modern survey fleet featuring robotic total stations, GNSS, UAVs, LiDAR scanners and mobile underground scanning systems, as well as advanced photogrammetry and point cloud processing workflows
• Gain exposure to specialised surveying activities including void scanning, ore pass scanning and geotechnical monitoring
• Contribute to digital mine model and spatial data solutions that support safe and efficient mining operations.

Does this sound like you?  

You are a proactive and safety-focused surveying professional with strong technical skills and a passion for continuous improvement. You enjoy working collaboratively and delivering accurate outcomes in a fast-paced mining environment.  Ideally, you’ll also have:

• A Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Surveying
• At least 2 years' mine surveying experience, ideally in underground mining
• Experience with survey control, mine plans, set-outs and end-of-month reporting
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience with Deswik and modern survey technologies such as UAVs and LiDAR will be highly regarded
• Interest in progressing toward SBQ Underground Mine Surveyor registration, supported by mentoring from the site's Statutory Mine Surveyor.
