What’s the opportunity? 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technical Services team and play a key role in supporting one of Australia's leading underground copper-gold operations. Working closely with Mining Operations and Technical Services stakeholders, you'll contribute to short-term scheduling, drill and blast activities, cave management and operational improvement projects that directly influence mine performance.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Senior Short Term Planning Engineer you’ll:

• Develop and present weekly mine plans in collaboration with operational and technical stakeholders
• Design drill and blast plans to support safe and efficient production outcomes
• Coordinate cave management activities to ensure sufficient broken ore stocks are available to meet production requirements
• Conduct regular underground inspections to monitor progress and support planning decisions
• Contribute to short-term projects and investigations focused on improving mine performance
• Work closely with Mining Operations, Supervisors, Superintendents and Technical Services teams to deliver practical planning solutions.

Does this sound like you?  

You are a motivated Mining Engineer who enjoys working closely with operations and seeing the direct impact of your work underground. You thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong communication skills and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.  Ideally, you’ll also have:

• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in underground mine engineering
• Exposure to mine design and planning software, ideally the Deswik Suite
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across operational and technical teams
• A self-motivated approach and a desire to develop your technical and operational mining expertise.
