What’s the opportunity? 

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future performance of one of Australia's most significant underground mining operations.

As our Principal - Continuous Improvement, you'll lead the site's continuous improvement strategy, partnering with senior leaders to unlock value, challenge conventional thinking and drive sustainable performance improvements across Mining, Processing, Maintenance and Support functions.

You won't simply identify opportunities. You'll influence decision-making, build organisational capability and lead initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in safety, productivity, reliability and cost performance. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of Ernest Henry Operations as we continue our journey towards operational excellence.

In this role, you’ll:

• Lead the continuous improvement agenda across Ernest Henry Operations, aligning initiatives with strategic and operational priorities
• Partner with leaders to identify opportunities, challenge existing practices and drive step-change improvements in business performance
• Apply structured problem-solving, Lean and operational excellence methodologies to deliver sustainable results
• Use operational and financial data to identify performance gaps, prioritise opportunities and drive informed decision-making
• Build continuous improvement capability across the site through coaching, mentoring and leadership development
• Facilitate cross-functional initiatives that improve productivity, reliability, safety and cost performance
• Track, measure and communicate outcomes, ensuring value delivery and long-term sustainability of improvements.

Does this sound like you?  

You're a credible and influential improvement leader with a proven ability to drive change within complex operational environments. You combine strong commercial acumen with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and have a track record of delivering meaningful business outcomes through people, process and performance improvements.  Ideally, you’ll also bring:

• Significant experience leading continuous improvement, operational excellence or business transformation programs
• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives
• Strong capability in Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence or similar improvement methodologies
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert data into actionable business outcomes
• Experience working within mining, resources, heavy industry or similarly complex operational environments
• A passion for developing people, building capability and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
