What’s the opportunity? 

This is an opportunity to join our Commercial team as a Purchasing Officer on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

In this role, you'll help ensure critical goods and services are available to support both underground mining and surface processing operations. Working closely with suppliers, warehouse teams, maintenance planners and operational stakeholders, you'll monitor purchase orders, expedite deliveries and coordinate inventory requirements to keep the operation running efficiently.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, building strong supplier relationships and solving supply chain challenges before they impact operations.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Supervisor - Inventory & Rotables, you’ll:

• Manage purchase orders and supplier follow-up activities to support the timely delivery of goods and services
• Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams and end users to ensure materials are available when needed
• Monitor inventory requirements, communicate delivery updates and identify potential supply risks
• Support RFQs, purchasing activities and vendor performance management
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data within Pronto ERP and support reporting requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Does this sound like you?  

You're a proactive and organised professional who enjoys building relationships, coordinating multiple priorities and ensuring things happen when they need to. Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience in purchasing, inventory, warehousing or supply chain environments, ideally within mining, resources or heavy industry
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal customers
• Experience using ERP systems, with exposure to Pronto highly regarded
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
