About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Refrigeration Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining and improving the refrigeration and air conditioning systems across Ernest Henry’s underground and surface operations. You will ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site and regulatory standards, contributing directly to equipment reliability and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and repairing refrigeration and HVAC systems including BACs plant, 134A8 plant, and surface chillers
• Ensuring compliance with ARC regulations, Ammonia systems, and site safety standards
• Supporting shutdown coordination, maintenance planning, and equipment reliability initiatives
• Mentoring apprentices and contributing to team development
• Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance records using systems such as Pronto

About you

The ideal candidate is a qualified Refrigeration Mechanic with a Full ARC Licence and a Restricted Electrical Licence. You will bring experience in maintaining large industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems, ideally in mining or heavy industry. We are looking for someone who is safety-focused, technically capable, and committed to continuous improvement.

You enjoy working in a collaborative team and contributing to site reliability and performance. You must be comfortable working across both surface and underground environments and have a strong understanding of compliance and asset management.
