Reliability Engineer - Electrical
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the Reliability Engineer – Electrical is responsible for improving, optimising and maintaining the electrical reliability of Ernest Henry’s processing plant and underground infrastructure. You will focus on DCS/PLC systems, control networks and electrical assets across the concentrator, SCADA systems and key fixed plant equipment. The role is critical in ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operations by delivering engineering support, implementing reliability initiatives and managing improvement projects.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Developing and implementing reliability improvement programs for electrical and control systems
- Leading optimisation of PLC, DCS, SCADA and HMI systems to minimise downtime
- Supporting maintenance teams with troubleshooting, breakdown analysis and predictive maintenance
- Managing improvement projects from scoping to commissioning and documentation
- Ensuring electrical systems comply with safety, statutory and operational standards
- Working with operations, maintenance and external specialists to resolve control system issues
- Providing coaching and technical support to maintenance personnel
- Preparing reports, reliability insights and monthly asset performance summaries
About you
We are looking for people who have the following attributes, skills and experience:
- Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer
- Previous experience in mining, heavy industry or industrial electrical systems
- Experience with ABB / Siemens / Allen Bradley PLCs and SCADA systems
- Yokogawa DCS experience highly regarded
- Strong analytical and fault-finding skills across fixed plant electrical systems
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement capability
