Reliability Engineer - Electrical

About the role

 

Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the Reliability Engineer – Electrical is responsible for improving the reliability, availability and performance of electrical assets at Ernest Henry, supporting safe and efficient mining operations.

Working closely with Maintenance and Operations, this role focuses on preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, failure investigations and the delivery of sustainable reliability improvements across surface and underground assets.

You will be part of a collaborative Engineering and Asset Management team, contributing strong technical capability, analytical thinking and a proactive safety mindset.

 

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Developing and implementing reliability improvement programs for electrical systems
  • Leading failure investigations and root cause analysis to identify long-term corrective actions
  • Optimising preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Providing electrical engineering input into planned and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Supporting statutory compliance, audits and Australian Standards requirements
  • Maintaining technical documentation, drawings and QA/QC standards
  • Preparing reliability and asset performance reports
  • Working collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Planning and contractors

 

 

About you

 

You are a motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong interest in reliability and asset performance in operational environments. You are comfortable working on site, engaging with stakeholders at all levels and applying structured problem-solving approaches.

 

You will also bring:

 

  • An Engineering degree (Electrical) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in mining, minerals processing or heavy industry
  • Exposure to fixed plant and underground electrical systems
  • Experience with failure investigations or reliability-based improvement activities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A strong commitment to safety, health and environmental standards
  • Experience with CMMS systems, condition monitoring techniques
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance will be highly regarded.
