Service Technician

About the role

 

Reporting to the Operations Team, the Underground Service Technician plays a key role in ensuring underground mining activities operate safely and efficiently. You will support development operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing underground services, contributing to ground support activities, and assisting with the preparation of production areas to ensure safe and productive outcomes.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with underground experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work effectively as part of a high‑performing team.

 

Key responsibilities for the role include:

 

  • Installing and repairing underground services on development headings
  • Setting up and maintaining ventilation systems, including building vent walls
  • Tensioning cables to support ground control and structural safety
  • Preparing production drill hole sites to support mining activities
  • Operating portable agitators as required
  • Spraying shotcrete to provide effective ground support
  • Identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions
  • Maintaining safe work practices in line with site procedures and standards

 

 

About you

 

Ideally, you will have previous experience working in an underground mining environment and be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in a dynamic operational setting. You have a strong commitment to safety, take pride in doing the job right, and are confident identifying, reporting, and managing workplace hazards.

You will also bring:

 

  • Previous underground mining experience (preferred)
  • A current C‑class driver’s licence
  • A positive, safety‑focused attitude
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
  • Strong communication skills and awareness of underground hazards
