This a residential role based in Cloncurry with a flexible roster (5/2 - 4/3 preferred). We offer relocation, a vehicle, housing and cover your utilities.

About the role

 

As the Superintendent - Underground Electrical Fixed Plant, you will report to the Manager - Maintenance and be accountable for the availability, reliability, and cost control of the electrical function to sustain infrastructure integrity and meet site-wide targets.

 

This role will also be appointed the PTCEW - Person in Charge of Electrical Work, for the mining area.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic input for long-term capacity planning, technology integration, and maintenance management practices to optimize productivity of the electrical fixed plant function.
  • Developing and implementing effective hazard identification, incident reporting, and mitigation strategies within the electrical maintenance functions.
  • Leading and supporting a safety-focused culture to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing risks associated with plant and equipment procurement, ensuring compliance with site Health, Safety & Environmental standards.
  • Fostering collaboration between maintenance and operational teams to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Demonstrating leadership aligned with Evolution Mining's core values and promoting a positive work environment.

 

About you

 

To be successful in this position, you will be a technically proficient electrical engineering professional with substantial experience in underground mining or heavy industrial environments. You possess a deep understanding of electrical infrastructure systems, asset lifecycle management, and the integration of modern maintenance strategies to ensure operational continuity and compliance.

 

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, and underground distribution networks.
  • Proven capability in developing and executing asset management plans aligned with ISO 55000 principles to optimise equipment reliability, availability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Strong command of maintenance planning systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, or similar CMMS), with the ability to analyse performance data, identify failure trends, and implement corrective actions.

 

You are adept at leading multi-disciplinary teams in high-risk environments, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, site standards, and engineering best practices. Your leadership is grounded in Evolution Mining’s values—Safety, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect—and you are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and operational discipline.
