About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent ,U/G Mechanical Fixed Plant, the purpose of this role is to lead the underground mechanical team and ensure the safe, reliable performance of our fixedplant assets. You will take ownership of both people safety and asset reliability, driving standards, managing risks, and ensuring our infrastructure operates at peak performance.
Your key responsibilities:

Championing safety. Leading by example, conducting risk assessments and inspections, and ensuring full compliance across all activities.

Overseeing execution. Supervising daily maintenance on underground fixed plant and materials‑handling systems, keeping operations running smoothly.

Driving reliability. Delivering maintenance schedules on time and managing breakdowns effectively, minimising downtime and boosting performance.

Developing the team. Coaching and mentoring tradespersons and apprentices, building a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Managing resources. Optimising labour and materials, controlling costs, and ensuring effective utilisation of the workforce.

Ensuring compliance. Verifying work orders and maintaining accurate data to support auditing, reporting, and future planning.
About You
You are a proactive leader who values order and detail. You know that safety and precision are non-negotiable in an underground environment.
You will bring:

A Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining) and S123 Supervisor training.

A commitment to safety. You have a sharp eye for hazards and risk mitigation.

Proven experience in mining or heavy industry. You have worked with underground fixed plant, dewatering, and hoisting systems.

Strong execution skills. You make smart tactical decisions in a dynamic environment.

Solid supervisory experience. You can lead and motivate a crew in an industrial setting.

A current C Class Driver's License.
