About the role
In the vacation student Electrical Engineer role, gain hands-on experience supporting the maintenance, reliability and performance of electrical systems across the mine site.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll contribute to projects that help ensure safe, efficient and reliable mining operations.
Some of your work may include:
- Assist with electrical maintenance and improvement projects.
- Support inspections of electrical equipment and infrastructure.
- Analyse electrical performance and reliability data.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and fault-finding activities.
- Assist with project planning, reporting and documentation.
- Work with operational teams to improve equipment reliability and availability.
Program locations
Cowal Gold Operations, NSW
A major gold operation near West Wyalong, with open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.
Roster: 5:2/4:3
Included: Subsidised accommodation, flights at the start and end of the program, plus return travel over the festive period.
Ernest Henry Operations, QLD
Ernest Henry is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio. It has high-quality equipment, high standards and great management team. Live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry.
Roster: 5:2/4:3
Included: Residential housing, site transport, flights at the start and end of the program, plus return travel over the festive period.
About you
We're looking for motivated students who are curious, hands-on and keen to grow their technical skills.
You’ll be:
- Studying electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Genuine interest in electrical systems, maintenance or heavy industry.
- A strong problem-solver with analytical thinking skills.
- A confident communicator and team player.
- Willing to live and work in a regional mining environment.
- Hold a valid manual driver's licence.
