Community & External Relations Officer
Who we are
We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.
When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.
What’s the opportunity?
Build meaningful relationships, create positive community outcomes and help strengthen the connection between one of Australia's leading gold operations and the people who live, work and thrive around it.
As our Community and External Relations Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting community engagement, stakeholder partnerships and Indigenous relations initiatives that create real value for the region. This is an opportunity to develop a rewarding career in external relations while gaining broad exposure to the mining industry and the positive impact it can have on local communities.
Working a family friendly 5:2/4:3 roster at our Cowal Gold Operations near West Wyalong, you'll enjoy genuine work life balance while contributing to community programs, stakeholder engagement activities and partnerships that support the long term success of both our operation and the surrounding region.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor Community and Indigenous Relations, you'll:
- Help deliver community development initiatives, sponsorships, scholarship programs and shared value projects that make a positive difference locally.
- Build trusted relationships with community groups, local stakeholders, government representatives and Traditional Owners.
- Support the implementation of stakeholder engagement and Indigenous relations activities across the operation.
- Assist with community events, consultation activities and engagement programs that strengthen Evolution's presence and partnerships.
- Contribute to effective communications, reporting and community enquiries management.
- Support the day-to day operation of the Evolution Town Office and community engagement activities.
Why Cowal Operations?
Cowal is one of Australia's largest and most successful gold mining operations, with a strong future and continued investment in growth.
This role offers exposure to both community engagement and Indigenous relations, providing a unique opportunity to build a diverse skillset and develop a long-term career in external relations.
Beyond the role itself, you'll enjoy the benefits of regional living, a supportive team environment and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that create positive outcomes for local communities, stakeholders and future generations.
Why Cowal Gold Operations?
At Cowal, our never-say-never attitude has led to mine life extension to 2042 as we have boldly reimagined our future. We took our operations there underground in just seven years. Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
