This roster will be 5/2 4/3 (9-day fortnight).

About the role

You will enjoy the rural lifestyle living and working in the NSW Central West, where you will be responsible for the management and integrity of the Distributed Control System, and other control systems used in the processing plant and providing technical expertise and support to the maintenance and production functional areas.

You will also provide, and coordinate Control System Engineering Services for Projects being undertaken by the Engineering & Projects Team, under the overall control of the Project Manager; Co-ordinate the input of Control System Engineering, design, project control, procurement, contracts, estimating and construction functions for the various Projects being undertaken on site.

 

Your duties, although not limited to, will include the following:

  • Review and manage asset management strategies for control systems across site including; Processing Plant, Service Island, Paste Plant, Underground, Workshops and others
  • Administration of plant historian
  • Provide technical support to the Operations and Maintenance teams
  • Analyse process data to aid reliability and increase productivity
  • Coordinate the input of various Control Systems Engineering functions during the development, approval and execution phases of Capital Works in accordance with the Project management Framework.
  • Prepare and/or have direct input to documentation for all phases of Capital Works including; Concept Studies, User Requirements Specifications (URS); Project Execution Plans (PEP); CER’s and Close out Reports
  • Prepare (within discipline) and assist (across disciplines) in the preparation of documentation for Capital Works Contracts including; Scopes of Work (SOW); pricing schedules; Material Take Offs (MTO’s), tender reviews, tender clarifications and tender recommendations.
  • Manage all Requests for Information (RFI) and maintain the RFI register for all Contracts in progress, ensure RFI’s are responded to within the designated time.
  • Carry out discipline engineering works for Projects being undertaken.
  • Lead and Participate (across disciplines) in the design review process for Capital Works, including 30%, 60% and 90% design reviews.
  • Lead and Participate (across disciplines) safety in design including SIL Studies, HAZOP’s and CHAZOP’s.
  • Coordinate interfaces between the project, Operations and other business activities in regard to the completion of Project Engineering activities.
  • Maintain daily records of works management, including incidents, progress, delays and the achievement of milestones. Ensure the Project Manager is promptly informed of all relevant matters and developments associated with construction activities and site works management.
  • Provide technical support to the project management team.
  • Manage all Control System Engineering documentation via the Document Management System including; revision control, records of design reviews, HAZOP’s, SIL studies
  • Participate in the development of Project schedules for all capital works being undertaken
  • Participate in the development of Estimates for Capital Works

 

About you

You will require the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in associated discipline, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering
  • Three or more years relevant experience within the resources or heavy industry
  • A minimum of five years process control engineering experience
  • Control systems experience including Yokogawa DCS, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC
  • Advanced MS Office and MS Project skills
  • Professional report writing and cost reporting abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • The ability to think analytically and strong attention to detail
  • A motivated self-starter who can operate autonomously when required
  • Strong results orientation and ability to consistently deliver against the plan
  • Excellent planning, organising and prioritisation capabilities
