This roster will be 5/2 4/3 (nine day fortnight) with 10 hour days.

About the role

The Electrical Tradesperson at Cowal is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the site's electrical systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing electrical maintenance across various areas, including water supply systems, tailings dams, and off-site assets like the Town Office and Evolution Camp.
• Maintaining instrumentation equipment, such as flow meters, pressure transducers, and valves.
• Assisting with shutdowns, major breakdowns, and fault diagnostics, while ensuring timely completion of tasks and accurate reporting in the Pronto system.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards, and communicating with the NPI Supervisor to ensure proper tools and equipment availability.
• Promoting continuous improvement in safety, operational efficiencies, and cost reduction, while adhering to environmental protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrating alignment with Evolution Mining's values and safety principles through clear communication and teamwork.

About you

To be successful in the Electrical Tradesperson role, the following qualifications, experience, and competencies are required:

• Trade qualifications including a Cert 3 Electrical trade certificate, NSW Electrical license, and High-Risk Work Licenses (EWP/Forklift) along with HV Switching certification.
• Experience in heavy industry maintenance and installation, preferably in gold mining, and familiarity with pumping systems, variable speed drives, and paste plant maintenance.
• Knowledge of high voltage switching, permitting systems, instrumentation competencies, and telemetry (preferred but not mandatory).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, diagrams, drawings, and specifications, along with excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Competent in using Pronto, MS Word, Excel, and managing data, with strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong commitment to safety, team success, adherence to policies and procedures, and demonstrating leadership by challenging unsafe behaviours.
