This roster is 5:2/4:3, 12 hour day shifts.

About the Role

Step into a dynamic role where you’ll deliver capital and sustaining projects that improve site performance and reliability. As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll manage projects end to end, ensuring they’re delivered safely, on time, and within budget while meeting all statutory and environmental requirements.

Your work will include:

• Designing and building new infrastructure such as pump stations.
• Managing consultants and contractors for detailed design and execution.
• Leading major steel repairs and plant refurbishments.
• Developing business cases, scopes of work, and improvement initiatives.
• Preparing conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Coordinating shutdown planning and liaising with cross-functional teams.
• Driving compliance through audits, risk assessments, and change management.
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  
  

This role offers variety, technical challenge, and exposure to the full project lifecycle, making it far more engaging than repetitive maintenance work. You’ll join a supportive team that values innovation and continuous improvement.

About You

You’re a qualified Mechanical Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering practical solutions. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, you bring strong technical capability and project management skills.

What sets you apart:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing projects from design through to execution.
• Strong planning, cost control, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Eligibility for National Engineering Registration or Chartered status (preferred).
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety, excellence, accountability, and respect.
