The roster for this role is 8/6 with 12-hour days.

About the role
This is a rare opportunity for highly motivated Engineers to be involved in all aspects of developing a new large-scale underground mine. As an Underground Mining Engineer, you will have the option to be rotated through various roles, including Project Engineering, Backfill Engineering, Ventilation Officer, Drill and Blast, and Scheduling. Additionally, you will be responsible for upholding health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards and principles, both within your own workplace and by identifying potential risks throughout Evolution. You will also be committed to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect.
About you
The ideal candidate should have a tertiary qualification in mine engineering or a related discipline, with previous start-up experience being advantageous. You should understand the NSW Regulatory framework (Safety Management System, PHMPs, and PCPs) and have underground operational and risk management experience. Key competencies include identifying, understanding, and solving complex problems, and effectively communicating information verbally, in writing, numerically, and graphically. You should establish and adhere to high work standards, develop excellent relationships with peers, leaders, and subordinates, and be self-directed to achieve individual, team, and organizational goals. Experience with mine design software, ideally Deswik CAD, Interactive Schedule, and Schedule, is highly regarded.
