About the role
A rare opportunity for highly motivated Engineers to be involved in all aspects of the development of a new large-scale underground mine. As an Underground Mining Engineer, you will have the option to be rotated through various roles including:
- Project Engineering
- Backfill Engineering
- Ventilation Officer
- Drill and Blast
- Scheduling

About you
This is a rare opportunity for Engineers or technical professionals aiming to transition into an underground mining role. The ideal candidate should be a driven and collaborative Engineer seeking the challenge of establishing a new underground mining operation and while advancing their own career. To be successful in this role you must be adept at communicating information—verbal, written, numerical, and graphical—and capable of developing relationships across all level of the company. It is essential that you have a high level of competency in problem-solving, along with self-direction to achieve individual, team, and organizational objectives. Preferred qualifications and skills for this role include a tertiary qualification in mine engineering or a related discipline, previous start-up experience (an advantage), understanding of the NSW Regulatory framework (including Safety Management System, PHMPs, and PCPs), underground operational experience (highly regarded), risk management experience, and familiarity with mine design software, preferably Deswik CAD, Interactive Schedule, and Schedule.
