This roster will be 8/6 and a 12-hour dayshift only. DIDO or Residential role (we are unable to facilitate FIFO).

 

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Geologist (UG), this position, is responsible for the management and execution of daily underground grade control activities through the collection and validation of geological data to supply reliable technical information to the mine planning teams.

Key result areas in this role include:  

  • Maintains and updates effective underground grade control systems and procedures
  • Perform geological mapping of all operating development and any other development as instructed by the Senior Underground Geologist
  • Communicate and collaborate with mining stakeholders to optimise ore extraction, minimise ore loss and reduce ore dilution
  • Co-ordinate grade control activities with mine scheduling and daily mining operations
  • Produce stope and level-plan reports to be used by mine planning and operations
  • Manage, monitor and reconcile material movements from the underground mine on a daily basis
  • Collaborate with the Open Pit Grade Control geology team on Mill feed strategies to achieve budget targets
  • Collection, storage and validation of underground geological data
  • Monitor and maintain underground sample QAQC to a high standard and action any exceedance from Evolution standards
  • Assist with the design, scheduling, and execution of Grade Control diamond drilling programs
  • Assist Underground Project Geologists with the supervision of diamond drilling contractors with completion of daily drill rig inspections
  • Supervise, support and direct geology technicians to achieve their respective duties
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation and End of Month reporting
  • Contribute to long term improvement projects assigned by the Senior Mine Geologist
  • Liaise with assay contractors to communicate requirements and manage issues    
  • Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and policies
  • Deliver and support in achieving CGO BBP Goals
  • Maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in geology or geoscience
  • Membership of Professional Society (e.g. AusIMM or GSA)
  • Post-graduate experience, with previous exposure to underground mine geology
  • Demonstrated experience in underground gold mining highly regarded
  • Experience with Geological and Block modelling or exposure to geostatistical methodologies highly regarded
  • Previous experience and exposure of mine planning software (Deswik/Datamine), Leapfrog and industry standard databases for geological data highly regarded
