Located near West Wyalong in central New South Wales, Cowal is a residential site where we encourage our people to live nearby and enjoy the close-knit communities and lifestyles of the surrounding areas.

This roster is 8 days, 6 days off and a 10 hour day.

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for a geologist who thrives on variety, autonomy, and meaningful impact. Reporting to the Senior Geologist – Resource Definition, you’ll play a key role in unlocking the mineral potential of a richly diverse mining lease at Cowal. From brand new open pits to a rapidly growing underground, this role offers exposure to multiple ore bodies and mineralisation styles, rarely found on a single site.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Planning and managing drill programs across short- and medium-term horizons
- Logging and interpreting geological data to support operational decisions
- Turning geologic insight into three-dimensional models, with the goal of growing and defining the impressive resource base
- Maintaining QAQC standards and database integrity with precision
This role offers a healthy balance between field-based activities and time behind a desk. Whether it’s managing drill rigs, logging core, and gathering valuable data on our orebodies through mapping, or turning that data into knowledge that drives decision-making, each day will present a varied and engaging challenge. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where your insights and initiative will directly shape outcomes.
About You
You’re already succeeding as a geologist, have built up solid experience, and now you're ready to step into a role with more scope, ownership, and geological diversity.
You’re a geologist on an operating mine or active resource-stage exploration site, ready to take the next step in your career. You hold a tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences, and ideally a manual driver’s licence. You’re confident using software tools like Leapfrog, DataShed, and LogChief, and you know how to turn drill data into actionable insights.
