Gold Room Operator
Who we are
We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.
When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.
What’s the opportunity?
Step into a role where precision, accountability and specialist expertise directly contribute to the final product leaving site. As a Gold Room Operator, you'll play a critical role in one of the most secure and specialised areas of our processing operation, transforming recovered gold into saleable doré bullion while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and operational excellence.
This is a residential opportunity based in West Wyalong, NSW, offering a family friendly 5:2/4:3 roster working 10 hour day shifts. Whether you're an experienced Gold Room Operator or a Process Operator looking to develop niche processing expertise, this role provides the opportunity to build highly sought-after skills in a stable, long term operation.
Working alongside an experienced processing team, you'll gain exposure across electrowinning, elution, regeneration, smelting and bullion production, developing specialist knowledge that can set your career apart.
Based at our Cowal Gold Operations and reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you'll:
- Safely and securely produce gold doré bullion that contributes directly to site performance and revenue.
- Operate and maintain Gold Room processes including electrowinning, elution, regeneration and smelting activities.
- Maintain rigorous security, reconciliation and documentation standards across all Gold Room activities.
- Support operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and compliance.
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement and operational discipline.
- Build specialist Gold Room expertise while working within a supportive and collaborative processing team.
Why Cowal Gold Operations?

Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
