This roster is 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off (9 day fortnight) and a 10 hour day.

About the Role

 

This isn’t a “watch and learn” kind of traineeship, it’s a “get in, get hands-on, and grow fast” opportunity. 
As our new IT Support Trainee, you’ll be the go-to person for first-level tech support across the Cowal site, working face-to-face with users and learning how to solve real problems in real time. You’ll report to the Superintendent – IT, but you’ll be backed by a small, tight-knit team who are all about support.
 
You’ll be learning on the job while working toward a nationally recognised qualification (!!), and no, we’re not expecting you to know everything. We’re looking for someone who’s curious, switched on, and ready to ask “why?”

About You

 

You’re the kind of person who’s always been the unofficial “tech support” for your family or workplace. Maybe you’ve worked in a bar, retail, or admin, but you’ve always had a knack for figuring out how things work and explaining it to others without making them feel silly.
 
You don’t need a degree or years of experience. Local school leavers or career changers with a genuine interest in IT and computers, strong communication skills, and the drive to learn are encouraged to apply. You’re organised, reliable, and not afraid to speak up when you don’t know something (because that’s how you grow). 
 
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
 
  • Love solving problems and helping people
  • Are curious about how systems work and want to build a career in tech
  • Can manage your time, keep calm and speak confidently when things get busy
