This roster will be 8/6 and a 12 hour day.

About the role

Contributing to the management and execution of daily underground grade control activities through the collection and validation of operational and geological data, your duties will include:

• Perform geological mapping of all operating development and any other development as instructed by the Senior Underground Geologist
• Perform daily stope and ROM inspections
• Inspect and markup UG Stockpile to improve ore and waste management.
• Assist, manage, monitor and reconcile material movements from the underground mine daily
• Communicate and collaborate with mining stakeholders to optimise ore extraction, minimise ore loss, and reduce ore dilution
• Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of underground sample QAQC to a high standard
• Perform geological logging of diamond drilling core as required or directed by the Senior Mine Geologist
• Assist Underground Project Geologists with the supervision of diamond drilling contractors with completion of daily drill rig inspections
• Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and policies
• Deliver and support in achieving department and company goals

About you

In this role you will have the opportunity to experience ongoing training at the highest standard working alongside a highly experienced team of geologists in an exciting and expanding mine site.

You will require the following qualifications and attributes:

• Tertiary qualification in geology or geoscience
• Previous exposure to mine or exploration geology functions highly regarded
• Underground mining experience is in employment, or a vacation program is highly regarded
• Ability to understand, interpret and analyse various datasets
• Capability to perform geological mapping in the underground environment
• Ability to perform geological logging of diamond drill core
• Aptitude for quick learning and embracing change in a dynamic environment
• Understand and comply with requirements of environmental approvals and relevant environment, health, and safety legislation
• Competent user of the Microsoft Office Suite
