This roster is 5:2 / 4:3 roster, 10 hour day shifts. This opportunity is initally on a 12 month secondment.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand – Exploration, you’ll play a key role in managing core yard operations and supporting exploration activities. You’ll lead a team of technicians to ensure geological samples are processed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards. Working closely with Exploration Geologists, you’ll help deliver operational targets and uphold Evolution Mining’s values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee core yard operations including drill core handling, orientation, photography, cutting, and dispatch.
• Prepare and rehabilitate drill sites for exploration and resource definition activities.
• Lead and support a team of technicians, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Communicate effectively with geologists, contractors, and stakeholders.
•  Deputise for the Geology Supervisor when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold company standards.

About You
You’re a practical, safety focused leader who thrives in a collaborative team environment. You bring strong organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced setting. Your people skills set you apart - you know how to lead by example, maintain confidentiality, and build trust within your team.

To succeed in this role, you’ll demonstrate:

• Experience in core handling (markup, orientation lines, RQD, photography, cutting) and a solid understanding of exploration processes.
• Previous exposure to mining or resource environments (desirable).
• A current C Class driver’s licence (HR and forklift licences desirable).
• Ability to use basic systems (Pronto and Excel) with training provided.
• Strong commitment to safety, problem-solving ability, and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Effective communication skills and a willingness to mentor others.
