Metallurgical Technician
Who we are
We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.
When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.
What’s the opportunity?
This is your opportunity to build technical capability while gaining hands-on exposure across plant operations, metallurgy, sampling, testwork and process improvement at one of Australia's premier gold operations.
As our Metallurgical Technician, you'll play an important role in helping our Metallurgy team understand plant performance and make informed technical decisions. Through accurate sampling, testwork, monitoring and field observations, your work will directly contribute to plant optimisation, operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working a 7:7 residential roster, you'll enjoy more time away from work while building a rewarding career in metallurgy. Based at our Cowal Gold Operations, you'll gain exposure to a large-scale gold processing plant and work alongside experienced Metallurgists, Operators, Maintenance and Laboratory professionals. Every day will provide opportunities to develop technical skills, contribute to plant performance improvements and build a strong foundation for future progression within metallurgy and mineral processing.
Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you'll:
- Help deliver the data and technical insights that drive plant performance improvements.
- Support metallurgical investigations, plant trials and optimisation initiatives.
- Ensure accurate sampling, monitoring and quality control processes that underpin sound operational decisions.
- Maintain critical monitoring and analytical equipment that supports safe, reliable plant operations.
- Contribute practical ideas and continuous improvement initiatives across the processing operation.
Why Cowal Gold Operations?
At Cowal, our never-say-never attitude has led to mine life extension to 2042 as we have boldly reimagined our future. We took our operations there underground in just seven years. Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
