This roster is 5/2 4/3 and a 10-hour day.

About the Role

This newly created position offers a hands-on opportunity to support the Geotechnical Engineering team in a dynamic underground mining environment. Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll be undertaking underground inspections, managing QAQC data, maintaining and expanding our seismic and subsidence monitoring systems, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data to the Geotechnical team.

You’ll be trusted to work independently once trained, including managing underground inspection requirements, using mobile apps for data collection and contributing to QA/QC processes. This is a role where your initiative and curiosity will be valued, and where your work directly supports the safety and performance of the operation.

About You

You’re someone who thrives in a field-based role and enjoys solving problems in real time. Willingness to learn and spend the majority of the day underground undertaking inspections and providing support to the Geotechical team.

We’re looking for:

• Ideally experience in underground mining or instrumentation however candidates without this experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Enjoys a field based role and is able to manage their time efficiently
• A manual driver’s licence and ideally a Working at Heights ticket (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic Microsoft Office skills and confidence using mobile apps for data entry
• Motivation to grow your career, perhaps even pursue further study in geotechnical engineering
