This roster is 8/6 and a 12-hour day.

About the role 

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer (Underground), the key function of the Mining Engineer (Underground) is to generate mine designs (stopes and development) to support operations and generate mine plans and schedules.

 Key Responsibilities will include:

• Promote safety awareness, set an example for others, and maintain a positive attitude towards safety.
• Identify hazards and risks early, eliminating or controlling them at the design stage.
• Deliver practical mine plans to operations as required to meet/exceed targets
• Participate in stope reconciliations for improvements in drill and blast methods
• Stay aware of environmental risks in underground mining, seeking specialist advice when necessary and incorporating controls in designs.
• Safely operate mining equipment, deliver practical mine plans, and support operations to meet targets
• Conduct hazard assessments, participate in stope reconciliations, and consistently demonstrate Evolution values in behaviour and actions

About you

You will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:

•  Tertiary qualification in mine engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of two years previous demonstrated underground hard rock mining experience
• Understanding of the NSW Regulatory framework, including Safety Management Systems, PHMPs, and PCPs, along with underground operational and risk management experience
• Adept at identifying, understanding, and solving complex problems
• Highly proficient in communicating information verbally, written, numerically, and graphically
• The ability to establish and adhere to work standards
• Developing exceptional relationships with peers, leaders, and subordinates
• Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team to achieve individual, team, and organisational goals.
• Experience with mine design software, particularly Deswik, CAD, Interactive Schedule, and Schedule or similar software
