What’s the opportunity?
Evolution are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Open Cut Mining team. If you know your way around large production excavators and take pride in safe, efficient operations, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work on a well‑run mine site. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for operating production excavators to deliver daily mining targets while maintaining strict safety, environmental and equipment standards.
Based at our Cowal Gold Operations and reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you’ll:
- Operate large excavators in line with mine plans and design tolerances
- Maintain dig faces, floor RLs, batters and haul roads to maximise efficiency
- Complete pre‑starts, identifying defects and operating equipment within limits
- Use MineStar GPS to ensure accuracy and reporting system issues
- Contribute to safe, productive shifts through clear communication and teamwork

Does this sound like you?
- You have proven experience on large production excavators in open cut mining
- You are open to relocating to West Wyalong or better yet, currently reside close by
- You hold a current Australian driver’s licence
- You have strong safety awareness and hazard identification skills
- You have good mechanical sympathy and attention to detail
- You have the ability to work a rotating roster and perform in a team environment
