About the role

Reporting to the Integrated Planning Manager, the Project Metallurgist role offers a unique opportunity to provide metallurgical expertise to improve plant performance. Key result areas in this role include:

  • Analysis of current and historical performance to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaboration with Site and Group Technical and Operational personnel
  • Ensure project milestones are met on time and to budget
  • Manage various projects to support introduction of appropriate technologies and methods to improve plant performance
  • Commencing and completing construction of key projects, ie new elution column
  • Make improvements promptly, without slowing or negatively impacting plant performance
  • Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with Evolution’s core values

About our Operation

Our Cowal gold operation is an Evolution Mining cornerstone asset and is located 40km North East of West Wyalong in NSW. The site is predominantly residential, meaning almost all our 400 site employees return to their own home each night rather than to a camp. West Wyalong has many schools, restaurants and sporting teams and is close to several regional centres. Our rosters are designed to help you create a work-life balance and our recent life of mine plans currently extend to 2032, offering increased job security.

About you

As an experienced Project Metallurgist, you will have a degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Mineral Processing. It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:     

  • 5 years’ experience with exposure to comminution, flotation, leaching and adsorption, elution and cyanide destruct
  • Previous project management experience
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Experienced in test work procedure and development
  • Prior experience with identification and improvement recommendations to processing bottlenecks
  • Ability to interpret plant data and trends to assist with project execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills
