Located near West Wyalong in central New South Wales, Cowal is a residential site where we encourage our people to live nearby and enjoy the close-knit communities and lifestyles of the surrounding areas.

This roster is 5:2 / 4:3 and 10 hour day shifts.

About the Role
This role isn’t about keeping things ticking over, it’s about transformation. We’re looking for a strategist and a problem solver, someone who sees outdated systems as an opportunity to create smarter, sharper, future ready solutions.
Cowal is in a significant growth phase - expanding open pit operations, integrating underground mining, and maintaining a large-scale processing facility. With growth comes complexity, and we need scalable, innovative training solutions. You’ll be at the centre of this evolution.
Reporting to the Superintendent – Safety, Health & Training, you will lead a capable team with the opportunity to shape, develop, and grow them into a high-performing function. Your focus: revamp and modernise the CGO Training Framework including renewing the Training Needs Analysis (TNA), strengthening governance, improving training compliance, and designing a forward-looking 12-month training plan that supports operational excellence and future site growth.

About You
You’re experienced and innovative. You’ve led training programs in mining or heavy industry and know how to turn complexity into clarity. You ask “why?” and then build the “how.” You see systems not just for what they are, but for what they could be.
You hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or successor) and ideally a tertiary qualification in a training related discipline. What truly sets you apart is your mindset: strategic, curious, and relentlessly solutions focused.
