Senior Emergency Response Advisor

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

Play a critical role in protecting our people, strengthening emergency preparedness and leading a highly capable Emergency Response Team at one of Australia's premier gold mining operations.

As our Senior Advisor – Emergency Response, you'll provide leadership and direction across emergency management, emergency response capability, training, preparedness and operational readiness. You'll shape how Cowal prepares for, responds to and learns from emergency events, ensuring our people, systems and equipment remain ready when it matters most.

Working a lifestyle friendly 5:2/4:3 residential roster near West Wyalong, you'll be part of a high performing Safety, Health and Training team while influencing a site wide emergency management framework that supports both our current operations and future growth.

Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Superintendent – Safety, Health & Training, you'll:

  • Build and maintain a highly capable Emergency Response Team that is prepared, trained and ready to respond to complex incidents.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Cowal's Emergency Management Plan, emergency systems and site readiness programs.
  • Lead emergency exercises, simulations and training programs that strengthen capability and build confidence across the operation.
  • Ensure emergency equipment, facilities and resources remain compliant, operational and fit for purpose.
  • Provide expert advice and leadership during emergency incidents, supporting effective response, coordination and recovery outcomes.
  • Foster strong partnerships with site leaders, external emergency services and community stakeholders to strengthen emergency preparedness across the region.

Why Cowal Gold Operations?

At Cowal, our never-say-never attitude has led to mine life extension to 2042 as we have boldly reimagined our future. We took our operations there underground in just seven years. Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
