What’s the opportunity?

This is an opportunity to lead major engineering projects that directly influence the performance, reliability and future growth of one of Australia's leading gold operations.

As our Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll provide leadership across a diverse portfolio of sustaining capital projects, plant upgrades and site improvement initiatives. From concept development through to execution and asset handover, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and cost effective outcomes while mentoring a capable team of engineers and working closely with contractors, consultants and operational stakeholders.

Working a family friendly 5:2/4:3 residential roster, you'll enjoy the balance of meaningful technical and leadership responsibility while helping shape critical projects across mechanical, structural and civil disciplines. This is a career defining opportunity to influence site wide outcomes and contribute to the long term success of Cowal Gold Operations.

Reporting to the Engineering and Projects Superintendent, you'll:

• Drive the successful delivery of capital projects, sustaining works and plant improvement initiatives across site.
• Lead engineers, consultants and contractors to achieve safe, high quality project outcomes.
• Improve asset reliability, maintainability and lifecycle performance through strong engineering governance and RCM principles.
• Influence site performance through technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop capability within the engineering team through mentoring, coaching and leadership.

Does this sound like you?

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant engineering experience within mining, minerals processing, power generation or heavy industry environments.
• Proven success delivering capital projects and sustaining plant improvements.
• Strong contractor, consultant and stakeholder management capability.
• Experience applying reliability centred maintenance principles and engineering governance frameworks.
• The ability to lead people, take ownership and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.

Highly regarded:

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or progression towards registration.
• Experience with Pronto or similar CMMS platforms.
• Exposure to fixed plant assets including conveyors, pumps, crushers, mills and materials handling systems.
