About the Role
This is your opportunity to lead a site wide reliability function that drives asset performance and operational excellence at Cowal Gold Operation - with a clear development pathway into a future Maintenance Manager role. As Superintendent - Reliability, you will set the vision and deliver strategies that maximise equipment uptime, extend asset life, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across fixed plant, mobile fleet, underground equipment, and critical infrastructure.

You will:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability improvement plan aligned with site and corporate objectives.
• Oversee condition monitoring programs (such as vibration checks, oil analysis and thermal imaging) and ensure timely, data‑driven recommendations.
• Lead root cause analysis and defect elimination initiatives to prevent repeat failures.
• Drive predictive maintenance and technology improvements - including the use of smart sensors and real‑time equipment data to spot issues early and prevent breakdowns.
• Collaborate with senior leaders in maintenance, processing and mining to optimise maintenance strategies, shutdown planning and lifecycle cost decisions.
• Provide strategic input into budgeting, cost control and long‑term asset management frameworks.
• Inspire, mentor and develop the reliability engineering team, fostering innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You
You are a strong reliability or maintenance leader who’s ready for the next step - someone who can own a site wide function now and grow into a Maintenance Manager role in the near future.

You bring a balance of technical depth and practical leadership. You know how to lift performance, improve asset reliability and guide teams through change. You’re comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and you enjoy being the person who turns problems into solutions.

You’ll have:

• A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (postgrad in asset management or reliability is a bonus)
• 10+ years’ mining or heavy industry experience, including 5+ years leading reliability or maintenance teams
• Strong skills in RCM, RCA, FMEA and condition monitoring
• Experience managing budgets and lifecycle costs
• A proven ability to lead change, drive improvement and use digital tools to get ahead of equipment failures
• A collaborative leadership style that builds capability and trust across teams
