About the Role
At Evolution Mining’s Cowal Gold Operation, the Superintendent – Reliability role has been strategically refocused to enhance asset performance by creating a dedicated role to lead the Reliability function within Maintenance team.
This change reflects our ongoing commitment to operational excellence, with a sharpened focus on equipment reliability, disciplined performance, and long-term asset integrity—particularly as we continue to invest heavily in new infrastructure to support future growth.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will lead a high-performing team of reliability engineers and specialists to shape the reliability strategy across fixed plant, mobile fleet, underground equipment, and non-processing infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments and has the capability to design and embed systems that support both current operations and future growth.
You will be accountable for the governance of asset risks, driving reliability improvements, fostering innovation, and managing life cycle costs and associated budgets to ensure sustainable performance and value delivery.

- Lead a high-performing team of reliability engineers and specialists
- Champion defect elimination, RCFA, condition monitoring, and asset health
- Deliver measurable improvements in asset uptime, lifecycle cost & risk mitigation
- Integrate CMMS PM data, Process Control trends and PdM data into decision-making and predictive maintenance tools
- Collaborate across Planning, Execution, Operations, and Projects to unlock performance
About You
You’re a reliability or maintenance professional who understands how to lead, build systems, and work across departments to drive performance. You’ve worked in mining or heavy industry, and you know how to balance planning, execution, and reliability, especially in environments undergoing growth and change.
You’re excited by the opportunity to drive asset performance, eliminate defects with a passion for continuous improvement. You bring a practical mindset, a collaborative approach, and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. You’re ready to lead a growing team and help shape reliability frameworks that support both existing assets and new infrastructure.
You’ll likely bring:
- A Degree-qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Reliability Engineering
- Vast experience in fixed or mobile plant maintenance in mining or heavy industry
- Proven experience in leading a reliability or maintenance improvement function
- Strong knowledge of Asset Management and CMMS Systems with prior experience with Pronto being beneficial
- A leadership style that’s inclusive, structured, and outcome-focused
