About the Role

 

This is your opportunity to lead a site-wide reliability function that shapes the future of asset performance at Cowal Gold Operation. As Superintendent – Reliability, you’ll set the strategy, drive innovation, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across fixed plant, mobile fleet, underground equipment, and critical infrastructure.


You’ll have the autonomy and influence to implement advanced reliability practices, integrate predictive analytics, and champion digital transformation initiatives that make a measurable difference. From leveraging IoT sensors and data dashboards to optimising lifecycle costs and maintenance planning, this role puts you at the centre of operational excellence.


You’ll work closely with senior leaders across maintenance, processing, and mining to align reliability strategies with production goals and corporate frameworks. This is a leadership role where your decisions will directly impact uptime, safety, and long-term asset integrity, all while supporting a growth-focused operation investing heavily in new infrastructure.

 

 

About You

 

You’re a reliability leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and driving change. You want more than a maintenance role, you want to influence strategy, lead innovation, and deliver results that matter. You’re motivated by the chance to embed proactive maintenance philosophies, eliminate defects, and use data to predict and prevent failures before they happen.


You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (postgraduate qualifications in asset management or reliability engineering desirable).
  • 10+ years in mining or heavy industry, with at least 5 years in reliability or maintenance leadership.
  • Expertise in reliability methodologies (RCM, RCA, FMEA) and condition monitoring techniques.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and lifecycle costs.
  • Proven ability to lead change, implement continuous improvement, and leverage digital tools for predictive maintenance.
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative leadership style that inspires teams.
