About the role

Reporting to the Senior Mining Surveyor, this position is responsible for providing technical support to the Senior Mining Surveyor by conducting all underground mine survey activities to appropriate standards. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and undertaking underground development heading set out and face markups, laser installations, void pickups, subsistence/deformation monitoring, EOM survey, computation, processing, and reporting
• Contributing to short and longer-term planning activities when required, including helping maintain the survey plan, document filing system and library and playing a hands-on role in survey set out, mine development, and other projects on site
• Assisting in developing and supporting the mine technical services survey team
• Playing a hands-on role in the day-to-day activities of the mine technical services section
• Liaising with the geology and mine production sections to coordinate and implement daily, weekly, and longer-term project work for the survey team
• Assisting the open pit survey team when required
• Assisting with the development and review of current procedures and safe work practices within the technical services section
• Championing Evolution Mining's Values and commitment to Safety, Environment, Inclusion and Diversity, and Emissions Reduction (Net Zero)

About you

The ideal candidate will join a highly skilled team in a supportive dynamic environment and have the opportunity to expand on knowledge and skills using the latest technolgy and techniques.

You will require the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualification or a TAFE advanced diploma in Surveying
• Previous underground survey experience, preferably in Australian hard rock mining
• Motivated team member who is willing to work within the mine survey team to meet goals and deadlines in an underground mining environment
• Exposure to modern survey instrumentation, procedures and practices in an underground mining environment
• Demonstrated associated computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Deswik software experience (highly desirable)
• Willingness to learn, develop skills with further technical advancements and progress within the organisation
• The ability to be part of the mine safety culture by ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times by yourself and others
• Respectfully challenging any safety concerns of non-compliance within the mine
