What’s the opportunity?
This is a rare opportunity to step into one of the most influential underground mining leadership roles in the Australian mining industry. As our Underground Mine Manager, you'll lead the operational performance, safety and strategic direction of a major underground mining operation while managing key contractor partnerships and driving the next phase of underground growth. This is a role where your decisions will directly influence production outcomes, people leadership, long-term planning and business performance.
Working a family friendly 5:2/4:3 residential roster at Cowal Operations, you'll enjoy genuine lifestyle balance while contributing to a large scale underground operation with significant growth ambitions. With responsibility for both underground operations and technical planning functions, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future success of the mine.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll:
- Lead a safe, productive and sustainable underground mining operation.
- Influence Life of Mine planning, business improvement and strategic growth initiatives.
- Provide leadership to operational, technical services and contractor teams to achieve production and budget targets.
- Build team capability through coaching, succession planning and leadership development.
- Drive operational excellence, contractor performance and continuous improvement across the underground business.

Does this sound like you?
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
- Hardrock Minie Engineering Manager Certificate.
- Significant underground hard rock mining experience.
- Previous experience in a statutory underground leadership role.
- Strong contractor management, budgeting and mine planning capability.
- Experience using Deswik and leading high performing teams.
