This roster is 5:2 / 4:3, 10 hour day shifts.

About the Role

Step into a high impact position, where you’ll play a critical role in shaping the underground geological model and supporting mine planning decisions. As a Project Geologist – Underground Modelling, you’ll maintain and improve the GRE46 geological model, plan and coordinate underground diamond drilling programs, and ensure accurate geological data collection and QAQC standards.

This role offers exposure to the full mining value chain, from discovery drilling through resource development, grade control, and reconciliation - while working on a world class gold deposit with a mine life extending to 2042. You’ll collaborate closely with mine planning, operations, and resource geology teams, contributing to both short-term production and long-term resource development strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Geological modelling and block model maintenance using Leapfrog and industry standard tools.
• Planning and supervising underground diamond drilling programs.
• Geological mapping and core logging.
• Data validation, QAQC monitoring, and reporting.
• Supporting grade control and resource definition activities.
• Driving continuous improvement and mentoring junior geologists.
  
  

This is a dynamic, technically challenging role that combines modelling expertise with practical underground geology exposure.

About You
You’re a qualified geologist with a passion for modelling and problem solving in complex geological environments. With 4+ years’ post-graduate experience and exposure to underground mine geology, you bring strong technical capability and a collaborative mindset.

What sets you apart:

• Tertiary qualification in geology or geoscience; professional membership (AusIMM or GSA) preferred.
• Proven experience in underground geological modelling and diamond drilling supervision.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog, mine planning software (Deswik/Datamine), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of sampling theory, QAQC methodologies, and geostatistical principles.
• Ability to interpret geological data and maintain accurate block models.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability.
• A proactive, problem solving attitude and commitment to safety, excellence, accountability, and respect.
• Holder of a current manual driver’s licence and ability to meet site requirements.

Desirable:

• Exposure to coding (Python) and advanced data analysis.
• Experience mentoring junior geologists and contributing to team development.
